Digital Tour Application

Archaeological Sites of Monastiraki and Armenoi

As part of the project, a mobile application was developed, offering a thematic digital tour of the protopalatial Centre of Monastiraki in Amari and the minoan cemetary of Armenoi in Rethymno, of the Final Palatial / Post-Palatial period.

Through the application, archaeological and historical information about a series of points of interest and important findings of the archaeological sites are displayed on the visitor's device screen through texts, narrations, images, and 3D reconstructions in an augmented reality environment.

The application is available on the Google Play and App Store for Android and iOS software. It can be used both on-site during the visit to the archaeological site using geolocation, as well as remotely. An internet connection is required during the installation of the app and the initial update of the data with multimedia content, but it is not necessary for the use of the app in the archaeological sites.
